BACKGROUND:

HHRTF was established through a partnership between New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and Recovery Solutions with the sale and purchase of Hampstead Hospital and contract with RS to provide operation and management of the HHRTF. The HHRTF is an accredited State of New Hampshire specialty hospital.

Philosophy:

HHRTF’s mission is to provide trauma-informed, patient and family centered mental health treatment in an accepting and supportive environment and the vision is to be the Center of Excellence for mental health treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults.

Services:

HHRTF serves acute psychiatric and substance related disorder needs of children, adolescents, and young adults. We know how stressful it is for individuals and their families struggling with mental health and substance related disorders. The primary goal of hospitalization is to stabilize patients with extremely challenging psychiatric, behavioral, or substance related disorders and facilitate a rapid return to their pre-hospital living situation.

HHRTF accepts psychiatric admissions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Psychiatric evaluations are completed on site.

Additionally, East Acres at Hampstead, a psychiatric residential treatment facility, opened its doors in May 2023. The PRTF is part of New Hampshire’s System of Care supporting services that are family-driven, youth-guided, community-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally and linguistically competent. The PRTF embraces a trauma-informed philosophy of care for individuals ages five to 21 requiring a level 5 treatment program.

Significant Achievements:

• Completed market rebranding with ownership change
• Started psychiatry residency program in January 2023
• Implemented comprehensive training program
• Implemented risk reporting and electronic policy management systems
• Retrofitted and renovated unit and developed program for PRTF
• Opened 1st PRTF in State of New Hampshire in partnership with Department
